Due to the COVID-19 pandemic regular drop-in services are significantly reduced at the Directions Youth Services Centre.
We are now offering access to bathrooms, distributing food at the front door (including our nightly dinner) and continue to operate our shelter and EWR shelter programs.

Non-pandemic hours:
Age 19 to 21 – 24 hours a day
Age 16 to 18 – 8:30 am to 4:00 pm daily
Age 22 to 24 – 8:30 am -10:30 am, & 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm daily
Directions Youth Services is located on the traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, represented by the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil Waututh First Nations. We thank them for their graciousness in welcoming us to carry out our work on their land.

At Directions Youth Services Centre you can drop in any time

• See a doctor (no appointment or ID required)
• Get help finding housing

• Get support with income assistance, social workers, school, health care, counselling, and more
• Get care, housing and food for your pet
• Talk to someone who will listen

DINNER, BREAKFAST AND SNACKS
• Hot dinner – 8:00 pm every night (vegetarian and meat options available)
• Snacks, drinks and coffee – all day, every day
• Cereal breakfast – 8:30 am Tuesdays
• Hot breakfast – 8:30 am Thursdays
We also give away fruit, vegetables and other food when we have it, so if you have a place and need an emergency hamper, please ask! We do our best to accommodate allergies and special dietary needs.

YOUTH HAVEN AND SAFEHOUSE
Haven and Safehouse are confidential emergency shelter homes for any youth in crisis. We welcome youth of all genders and backgrounds, and no matter what condition you are in. We provide warm food, safe, private rooms to sleep and rest, and kind, non-judgmental support.
We ensure you receive the best mental health/substance use supports, medical care, recovery services, Indigenous supports, housing supports, and more, all of your choosing.

TRY STREET YOUTH JOB ACTION
Not quite ready for an employment program or a job, but still need money and interested in working? Street Youth Job Action (SYJA) is a low-barrier pre-employment program, where you help beautify the city streets and get paid the same day.
You’ll gain work experience, full training, employment skills, and references. We can also help you with job searches, including help writing and printing your resumé.
